Applied Crisis Communication and Crisis Management
Cases and Exercises
- W. Timothy Coombs - University of Central Florida, USA
In the first two chapters, W Timothy Coombs introduces key theories and principles in crisis communication, which students can apply through analysis of 16 cases drawn from recent headlines. The cases are explored from pre-crisis, mid-crisis and post-crisis perspectives, and include a range of predominant crisis scenarios from product recalls, to lawsuits, to environmental disasters. The appendix includes sample crisis management plans, sample crisis response strategy templates and sample message maps to support an organization's message.
It will be of great value for my 3-rd year students.
Gives a very good overview of communication during crisis and how to adopt. recommended as supplement for the Crisis Management course at NTNU.
This is a really excellent set of cases and exercises for students. If my module was entirely case based, this would be a great textbook to focus on, however, I am more likely to use parts of it across the course. I have recommended to my library.
A key textbook for students studting crisis communication..
Very well put together. I will be referring to it as a supplementary reading resource.
Not adopted for the Summer 2013 but will consider for the Summer 2014.
