This 4th edition of Green and Tones' Health Promotion provides a comprehensive and thorough update on health promotion planning and strategies. Especially fruitful for both researchers and practitioners is the ethical perspective which now runs throughout the book. The chapter on the developments in evidence-based health promotion is both informative and timely, whilst new perspectives on the role of health education in health promotion suggest mitigating solutions to complex problems.

An excellent resource that recognises the complexity of human behaviour and the interplay between multiple factors that determine outcomes; whilst also recognising the need to shine a light on the bigger issues relating to health inequalities when addressing 'health promotion'.

I coordinate a core course entitled Society, Behaviour and Health for Master of Public Health students. I find the book very helpful as it covers our syllabus on health promotion and health belief models. A very good reference indeed.

We need a somewhat more general text for students who become nutritionists in the first place. Also because of some rules within university i need a somewhat cheaper book to make sure the costs stay manageable for students.

This is a very informative text which covers all the fundamental health promotion approaches and strategies. The addition of online resource tools to complement the text helps to update the material by making it even more accessible to students.
