excellent text which covers all aspects of normal midwifery
This is a very easy to read text that covers the key elements of the first year of study on a midwifery programme, providing a framework on which to build upon during subsequent years.
I particularly like how the NMC standards for pre-registration midwifery education and the essential skills clusters are identified at the start of each chapter, allowing the student to see how these apply to the modules being studied.
Useful book. easy read.
Supplementary reading for first year midwifery students
This is a good book for pre-course reading as well as throughout the first year of the programme. It focuses on normal midwifery practice and has a very user-friendly / interactive appeal.
