An excellent and comprehensive introduction to qualitative research. Well written and logically organised.
This book is written in a clear and comprehensive manner, with a practical yet professional 'real-world' focus that will be of benefit to students at any stage of their undergraduate degree. Indeed, postgrads and staff alike will surely benefit from it as a referential resource (I certainly have already).
Put simply, this book is fantastic: a comprehensive, and accessible text that provides a working introduction to conducting qualitative research.
This is an excellent book. It is written in an accessible way and offers a pragmatic approach to the student embarking on qualitative research.
Great book for students embarking on qualitative research/ Probably one of the best around. I will be recommending to both UG and PG students to support with their dissertations.
Recommended for our course reading and an essential text for those engaging in social applied policy research, and those using framework analysis. Will be added to the reading list for 2015-16. As ever from Jane Ritchie an comprehensive exploitation of applied qualitative research in the field of social policy that is accessible for students and written in a way that helps and enthuses them in this field.
Very good book for the South African social researcher - added in tutorial letter as recommended book FOR5906 Advanced Intelligence
Extremely informative and well written text which covers a considerable amount of ground; from basic foundations of qualitative research, to designing and delivering a social science research project. The chapter on ethical considerations is very useful as is the chapter on generalising from qual research. UG and PG students will find this book very useful.
Students have found this a very valuable text not only on designing and carrying out research but also how to analyze qualitative data.
Clear messages. Very practical and useful for early researchers.
