Much needed update to an essential final year student project guide. The Oates book is very well established and polished.
While the book provides plenty of background and insight into quantitive and qualitative studies, is is lacking both in modern machine learning techniques and in how to perform design science research. Nonetheless it is a vital resource for all information and computing students.
