Very beneficial text book for Social Work in a digital society. Great application of concepts to reality in practice.
Really interesting text and very relevant for students who will face many challenges related to digital technology throughout their working careers
Useful for students to hone their technology skills and to stretch those who think they already know how to use technology. Ethical issues useful too.
This is a confusing subject for many in social work be it students or CPD post qualifying .
This book helps get the basics right and then build on them. A timely addition to most courses
This is a useful book on a neglected topic. It will be valuable for students on qualifying (undergraduate) social work courses needing to get to grips with the evolving world of information technology as it impacts on professional practice.
Interesting text........good for L4 social work students. Advantages and pitfalls of social networking.
useful introduction and equips students as per the subject benchmark statement on IT.
This is a well written book which will be invaluable to both practitioners and students alike. It is informative and thought provoking in its analysis of the impact of the digital society on marginalised people. It also helped me to consider my own digital footprint and to assess its impact on my privacy. A real strength of the book is its description of new technology and software applications which can make a real difference to service-users’ lives. I enjoyed reading this book and thoroughly recommend it.
A thorough book, useful for a Social work Degree
