The journal welcomes articles on all aspects of international research in the field of communication and media studies and has a particular interest in how global media are impacting on, and are in turn being transformed by China, specifically Chinese institutions, industries and audiences. Global Media and China is a peer reviewed, open access, scholarly journal that provides a dedicated, interdisciplinary forum for international research on all aspects of communication and media. The journal has a special, but not exclusive, interest in China and Chinese media both from a global and a Chinese perspective. The journal also publishes new research on digital platforms, social media and related policy. The journal actively encourages both quantitative and qualitative approaches to media, communications, and society while seeking to advance the field by publishing innovative and thought-provoking papers, reviews, and discussions that open up new directions or shed new light on significant issues.
