Curriculum and curriculum issues are at the heart of current debates about schooling, pedagogy and learning. This book will enable practitioners, scholars and academics to understand how to re-design or to suggest changes to curriculum structure, shape and content. Grounded in theory and philosophy, the book also offers practical help in grasping this controversial area.

Inside, the authors:

  • provide practical planning templates
  • support and provoke analysis, discussion and experimentation
  • include definitions of key terms and reflective questions
  • incorporate practical examples and case material based on their work worldwide on curriculum design and evaluation.

It is a useful introductory text to review the nature of a curriculum for our new module 'Curriculum Matters'. However due to lower student numbers than expected this module will not now begin until Sep 2017 instead of 2016.

The reason not to be fully adopted is that some of the students do not speak English. So it is recommended as a very useful from practical point of view, especially. Nevertheless, this book gives a comprehensive picture for the professionals and managers who are involved in HRM and education and training. From practitioner's point of view chapters 10 (Curriculum and assessment) and 11 (Assessment and testing) have been recommended for my course.
