SAGE to publish European Journal of Probation

February 25, 2014

Los Angeles, CA SAGE today announced a partnership with the University of Bucharest to publish its journal, European Journal of Probation (EJP) from 2014. A peer reviewed academic journal with a European outreach, EJP publishes comparative research on probation and community justice.

European Journal of Probation, edited by Ioan Durnescu (University of Bucharest, Romania) and Fergus McNeil (University of Glasgow, UK) publishes high quality scholarship and research on probation topics, to provide an international and comparative academic forum that can positively impact on society.  The journal will be published as part of a bundle with the prestigious and well-established Probation Journal, which has been published by SAGE on behalf of Napo since 2003.  This exciting partnership will combine the strength of both titles to form a world-leading package in rigorous probation studies.

“SAGE has a leading global publishing program in criminology and criminal justice, and we are delighted to extend this program further by publishing the University of Bucharest’s dynamic journal, European Journal of Probation”, said Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE. “European Journal of Probation will complement Probation Journal: both journals have global audiences and have gained excellent reputations for publishing high quality material that is accessible to a wide readership, a real testament to the hard work and dedication of the editors of both journals.”

“SAGE is well known for its strengths as a social science publisher, with strong international reach and presence,” commented Ioan Durnescu, Editor. “EJP has a core place within the criminology sector, contributing to the development of this critical field. SAGE’s commitment to publishing leading academic research, their editorial integrity and international reach is closely aligned with our publishing ethos. We are looking forward to benefiting from what SAGE has to offer and to developing a strong and successful partnership with Probation Journal going forwards.”

The new website will be http://ejp.sagepub.com
