Full Range Leadership Development
- Bruce J. Avolio - University of Washington, USA
Bruce Avolio presents a thorough analysis and an authoritative presentation of the complex field of study, that is leadership, through an easy to comprehend “systems” approach to leadership.
Avolio composes this work with a reflective, reflexive and very personalised style of writing, which is engaging and gives the feeling that the author is addressing you directly. The Leadership theories, addressed in the text, are analysed, and evaluated in such a way that is not too overwhelming for the reader, from whichever level the reader is engaging with the theories and concepts of leadership. This text is, therefore, suitable for learner’s that range from Undergraduate, Postgraduate as well as Work based/Professional practitioners operating in a Leadership role.
The text is adopted as it will transcend many modules and disciplines across the suite of Business and Management and Leadership and Management modules. This text is a must have reference for Leadership modules and Leadership Development initiatives.
This is an awesome book that lays a strong foundation for prospective school leaders.
I have proposed adopting the text to the parent campus. Have not heard back from the DEAN. Thank you.
extreamly useful but not for ExecEducaton programmes. May use in the future when more leadership courses are developed.
Met our course objectives.
too repetitive, not practice-oriented, rather a pseudo self-help book
Preferred Northouse book
This text interfaces well as a compliment to more technical theory books. With its journal questions and conversational style, students have the opportunity to evaluate themselves and apply the theories they are learning introspectively.
May use in the future when more leadership courses are developed.
This is an excellent resource on up-to-date leadership studies. We are using it for academic staff and students.
